When Weighing The Merits Of George Soros

Personality, Morals And Charity

When was the last time you gave to something greater than you? Did it feel fulfilling?

Or did it cause a real impact to be made? These are only single questions being asked. Were you limited to giving only at your church’s local events? If so, then we need to have a big discussion for what the philanthropists of the world have accomplished. Those feats can be daunting when taking into our personal perspective.

Especially if you’re looking at a man like George Soros. This giant of a man stands tall even among the names that equate with him. So don’t shy away from a charitable act because men like this seem to overshadow you.

We, therefore, urge you not to be discouraged. The world’s most involved givers and charitable souls had to first make something of them. They had to first have a dream before being able to share one to others. This is true and must occur before anyone is recognized as great or affecting philanthropy. The equation is simple for the leaders who avoid rushing their own achievements.

You cannot put the horse before the carriage and then call it greatness. An accomplishment must come first, and only then are you truly empowered. Read this story at Politico.com about George Soros.

The fact is, you need something to give first and before you can truly give to another living soul. The world’s small group of powerful givers had to first incur more than enough for themselves and before they became qualified. This method is clearly seen within men like George Soros. There was no silver spoon in his mouth as he grew up in childhood. You might come from similar straits. Which means anything is also possible for you. Just look inside or look outward at our greatest examples.

George Soros was first concerned with being able to give to his family before giving to the world even crossed his mind. It was during the Nazi occupation of George’s home country when it began. These events led Mr. Soros into the United Kingdom where he saw the undying need for education, work and power to support a family.

Yet none of those came without enduring struggles and endless tests to build a young boy into the powerful investor we know of today. Though George’s first professional work in Europe was as a waiter and laborer in U.K.’s train yard, the urge for something greater laid dormant within him.

What eventually awoken became a person who saw himself as a great financial master. With the right education and passion to see his future improved, his financial education made him into a prospect most agencies were eager to have. But it was only when George started his own fund did we hear about his impact.

That impact is what enables him to be a man of philanthropy today. The impression is strong and is directly related to the fact that he first built his empire and in order to gather enough resources for real, impactful giving. Know more about George Soros on CNBC.

The Charitable Work of Ross Abelow

The cold season of winter is a time when animals are left out in the cold weather with no place to shelter. It is on this basis that the long time New York City lawyer Ross Martin Abelow started a campaign that was launched at the beginning of the year on 13th January 2016 to raise $5000 to be donated to shelters so that it could take care of the animals in the streets.

The existing shelters at the moment do not have adequate capacity to take in more animals because of the logistics involved. The donations will take care of food, medical care and blankets for the helpless and vulnerable animals that the shelters will take in to their care. The goal and aim of this campaign is to raise awareness and look for support from animal and pet lovers so that the animals in the streets do not suffer from the winter which suffering may result to death.

Ross Abelow is a long-time resident of New York. He was selected to spearhead the campaign as part of his community work which he has passion for. Abelow attended Brooklyn law school and later graduated in the year 1989 after he attained his law degree. He also did his undergrad at the State University of New York. Abelow focuses his carrier on family matters with his specialization on matrimonial and family law plus entertainment and commercial litigation. He became licensed in 1990 to practice law. Abelow is a partner at the law firm of Abelow & Cassandro, Llp. He brings a vast wealth of experience to the legal profession.

Thus the campaign was started with the aim of raising money for animal shelters in the New York City to take in more animals on the streets. This will ensure that shelters will have adequate cash they require to take care of the homeless animals. Through the campaign the amount raised will be channeled to financing the running of those shelters which including buying of foodstuff, blankets and vaccines.

This is a noble idea that seeks to reduce the deaths of animals and pets in New York City since most of the shelters do not have more spaces and capacity to take in more animals due to financial constraints. Thus the campaign by Abelow seeks to fund and empower shelters to take care of the suffering animals in the streets through provision of food, blankets and Medicare.

Notable Dentist Starts GoFundMe for Operation Smile

There are plenty of GoFundMe pages out there, but one in particular is a very deserving campaign. Notable New Jersey dentist Avi Weisfogel’s GoFundMe for Operation Smile hopes to raise $2,000 for the non-profit. Avi wanted to give back and help people, especially children; therefore, Operation Smile was a logical choice. The non-profit started in the 1980s helping children in the Philippines with cleft lip and palate and other facial deformities. The children receive free, safe surgeries. Started by a husband and wife team, William and Kathleen Magee, Operation Smile now offers services in several countries where medical care is not as safe and affordable as it should be. Operation Smile focuses on working with hospitals and medical offices in other countries to make the operation as seamless as possible considering all aspects including recovery for the patient. Many doctors around the world volunteer their time and money to the worthy charity.

Avi Weisfogel is excited to be able to help such a worthy cause with his GoFundMe page. Avi graduated from Rutgers and New York University College of Dentistry before buying a practice in Avi Weisfogel’s hometown of Old Bridge New Jersey. The dying practice he bought was from a doctor who lost his license.  According to his blog, Avi gave up everything to follow his dream including declaring bankruptcy, but after years of research, he successfully opened Dental Sleep Masters exclusively working with sleep apnea patients by making dental appliances that control sleep apnea.

As a true philanthropist, Avi wanted to share his expertise with the world and opened Owner Unlimited Sleep Patients to help other dentists attract sleep apnea patients to their practices. As chief lecturer at Owner Unlimited Sleep Patients, Avi’s goal was to help other dentists set up their practice to accept sleep patients as well as how to design appliances to help those patients. He teaches on the connection between sleeping disorders and dental health. Against popular business practice, which suggests keeping all the glory for one’s self, Avi wanted others to succeed as well.
